Dr Joseph Sam Sesay
In his Keynote Opening Speech to the National Conference On Transition From Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) To Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS), at UNIMAK on 4th March 2016, Dr Joseph Sam Sesay, Special Advisor to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, described the progress Sierra Leone has made towards the Millennium Development Goals, and the specific challenges the country faces going forward with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr Sesay called for his audience to get involved with these words: “the challenge is all ours to ensure that we achieve the SDGs more than we did the MDGs. We therefore propose that you the participants here, including the students and staff of UNIMAK review the 17 SDGs and their 169 targets and make them adaptable to the Sierra Leone National Development Agenda.”
